Serre Chevalier Yesterday

Fergus didn’t have a photo for yesterday, but the missus went up with our daughter who is 7 (well nearly 8 actually) and came back with this ace photo.

She posted it on Facebook and said “Why we live in Serre Chevalier…Maddy perched next to the Vallons run, with the Col de Granon in the distance”.

That is an excellent photo.
Actually I did have a photo for yesterday, I just couldn’t be arsed post it – Sue’s one makes mine look duff anyway, glad I didn’t.
Good day Sir.

I think this picture is fab, well done Mrs Lomas. Just one question though, do Serre Che kids get the afternoon off to ski?? If that is what the usual P.E lesson is, they are VERY lucky kids. It beats dodgeball and tennis!!

They get the whole day off on Wednesday, it seems more than 2 days at school is just too much for them…it helps prepare them for a life of 32 hour weeks and chomage.

WHATTTT! A whole day off! As a teaching assistant, I get a bit fed up of the usual comments that in UK, kids are never at school, i think I will tell the next moaning minnie this little gem.

MORE PICTURES PLEASE MRS LOMAS:)

Indeed and I think they get more holidays than the rest of Europe, no wonder they grow up into such lazy b*******!

Thank you Mrs Trewhitt! I think the joy of this pic is that I was actually photographing some snow-covered trees and when I looked round Maddy had just popped up on the pile of snow of her own accord. I quickly used the zoom to capture the moment. BTW the wednesday off school tradition possibly harks back to the era when the whole family would go to market. Some of my back catalogue of photos are on flickr and I am hoping to publish a history book on Serre Che very soon.
