The Wall Part 4

by Rick Lomas on June 8, 2010

image619270221.jpgIf you have been actively following the story of the rebuilding of the wall ’round the front of my house, you will be well interested in this.

My previous fears of having a ‘not so rustic’ looking replacement wall have now gone. The new wall does indeed use the old stones from the wall that came before and is starting to look pretty good.

In the photo there, you can see the new bit on the left which is where the concrete hasn’t ‘gone off’ yet.

I’m not entirely sure what height it is going to be, but it looks like a sort of sitonable 50cm or so. This should be enough to prevent the garden becoming full of erroneous cyclists and collapsing pensioners (there was one further down the road the other day, apparantly).

Anyway onwards and upwards, I reckon the next wall update should be the final brick in the wall.

I actually woke up the other morning wondering how the wall was progressing!

Glad it’s nearly mended!

@Howard: Howard that is hilarious, I can’t believe anyone is still reading this site in the middle of June. As you may have noticed me and Ferg are just having a bit of fun with the site and keeping the search engines ‘trained’ at the same time.
