Strike that bites

by Fergus Rainbow on October 29, 2010

Well we were all like – dude there’s no strike here, chillax amigos, we got some brewskis and gasoille.

But no, we were very much mistaken – the greve is hitting Serre Chevalier and all is not nickel-chrome.

The sleeper train to Paris has been cut, meaning to do that journey one must find a TGV, which means either Grenoble or Oulx just over the border in Italy.

Fortunately it’s not me that’s getting out of the valley at the worst time of the year – what am I saying?

The pension thing has just been passed by the government, so this means probably more action.

If like me you’re a bit vague on exactly what’s going on have a read of  The Revolt Shaking France, which for my money best explains pretty much what’s going on and why there is such a rumpus about it.

Stickin’ it to the man one ski station at a time.
