I know I’m supposed to be writing about the fantastic skiing and snows of Serre Chevalier, but as you know it is technically the inter-season season, even though I could give you a snow report – there is none – it probably isn’t that interesting, so we have to cast a broader eye to see what is happening in the world in general that could affect a trip to Serre Chevalier.
So just to put it on the record – there is going to be a lot more not exactly Serre Chevalier specific stuff until mid November. There will be news of the valley, of course, but that’s the facts.
What’s caught my eye is the bubbling World War III, that someone wants to kick off anywhere, this is something that could affect, if not the skiing in Serre Chevalier, but certainly the accesibility to that skiing to the world at large, so as such this is relevant.
Anyway the story that somehow a (rather crappy, old fashioned) North Korean submarine got into the middle of a joint US/ South Korean navel exercise and sunk a (seriously state of the art Aegis) crovette doesn’t seem likely.
Mind you we have Israel, Hilary Clinton and many others all lining up to get a war on, don’t forget North Korea has tested a nuke, so that might put the kaibosh on this season’s skiing.
Don’t take my word for it there are many better resourced articles dealing with this issue.
There are two right there, all I know is this wouldn’t be the first time a manufactured navel “incident” has been used to kick off a war – the USS Maine (Spanish American War) and the Gulf of Tonkin (Vietnam – some 5 million dead) being the best known.
These false flag attacks are so blatent someone should call 9/ 11
