It might be a bit of a trek but if you visit Serre Chevalier now you’ll get some pretty good ski and snow board bargains.
These are mostly to be found in the ex-rental department, but many of the shops are making space for the next season’s stock and flogging off some older stuff at low, low prices.
If, like me, you’re not that fussed about how you look on the piste - well I’d be a fool to myself to think I can pull off stylish – and aren’t that driven by having to have the latest fashion, this can be a great time to pick up some excellent kit, that just happens to be a few years old.
To illustrate this piece I was going to take a photo of the shop Aoraki down at Pre-Chabert, but didn’t have my camera on me, so imagine: a ski shop with a load of skis with the word “Soldes” on them. If that doesn’t entice you to get on a plane to find a ski bargain I don’t know what will.

oddly enough I wonder how many brits think that ‘soldes’ means ‘sold’ rather than ‘sale’? Just a thought
Yes that has been a toothy issue for me.
The time I have spent tossing and turing wondering how many Brits think “soldes” means “sold” rather than “sale.
I reckon if we asked the readership we’d be swamped with responses.
