Well is Prime Minister Nicolas Sarkozy less than honest?

Yes can you believe it? A crooked polititian. As you maybe have heard the PM has been accused of taking cash donations from France’s richest woman, L’Oriel make-up heiress Liliane Bettancourt, when he was mayor of her district.

Much as I think all polititians are just puppets, I’m not certain a bent mayor would pick up his own bribe (for want of a better word) in public. If I was taking a bung I’d get a minion to do it. Of course the giver then loses leverage if they aren’t seen handing over some folding, so that might be part of it.

The tittle-tattle is the talk of the most exclusive Serre Chevalier salons and it’s on the telly, but not as much as you’d think – odd that.
