After nearly 4 weeks in the UK we are finally returning to Serre Chevalier. We were staying in Barnet last night, so the M25 was well near and Dover was less than 2 hours away.
As many readers will know I am a massive fan of Norfolkline who do
ferries from Dover to Dunkirk. I did look at other ferries, but P & O penalised me for my roofbox and SeaFrance would only provide a cheap fare with no flexibility, so if you get a bad M25 you’ve lost your money. Norfolkline £59 and as flexible as you like.
Any way, because we are carrying two kids we decided to break up the journey. It’s probably a bit too soon in the journey for most people, but we decided to stop at one of the Premiere Classe hotels in St Quentin, they are probably about the cheapest option if you are more than just a couple, about €40 for a triple room and a bit more with breakfast.
810km from here to Briançon so it’s a long journey tomorrow.
