The University of Surrey is carying out a big ole survey on helmet use on the slopes, which if you have an opinion on I suggest you go and fill out.
It’s somewhat annoying, but here’s a tip from someone who knows: when you get to what you think is the end of the survey don’t blast them with a load of comments about what you think are the shortcomings of said survey.
It turns out they have thought of everything, just go with it, it also means you have to apologise for being a bit of a dick in the next comment section.
I’m not a big fan of helmets (stop calling me Jervais – polish your own). I think people I see on the pistes of Serre Chevalier, especially idiots, ski in a bubble with them and are less aware of slope activity.
Off piste sure, freestyle and kids yes it makes sense, but really know your limits.
So some actress fell over on a blue run and she dies, but really what’s next helmets on pedestrians because cars occassionally mount the pavement and kill you?
Can we really be forced to do something just cause a few people die doing it?
