There is precious little reason to link this pick to a blog that details the comings and goings about the marvelous ski station of Serre Chevalier in the southern French Alps, other than it’s in France and it’s written in English.
On the weather tip, it seems to have been snowing, at least at 1,500m, for 36 hours solid. Not proper snow, but a teeny, tiny constant fall that isn’t settling on the pavements. However, up the montain this is seriously building a proper base.
Is this too early? Who knows, the villagers think so, will it affect the skiing? Unlikely, it should be warming up in a few days, which should melt the snow which will then soak into the ground making a lovely base for any later falls.
I have no idea, it’s all speculation, but it’s still early days yet – mind you one month to go till Serre Che opens and given the current covering (touch wood) it looks good for a Dec 11th start.
