Fresh on the heels of the word “nigger” being excised from a new pressing of Mark Twain’s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Serre Che has stumbled into the morass of skin-tone based bigotry (which may or may not be spelt like that now I come to look at it).
Our very own Rick Lomas stirred up this veritable hornets’ nest of intolerance by trapping his finger in the new mircophone stand whilst gigging at The Station in Chantermerle.
He gave himself a “blood blister”, or a “black man’s pinch” – the shock, the horror, the hatred, this nust be a southern phrase as (northern) Rick said he’d never heard it before and has loads of black mates.
So over to you, is that racist or just a phrase people say when they’re no black geezers about?
Why can’t we all get along? Tags: blood blister, serre che, hornets, honky

That’s a new one on me – never ever heard that before, and “I’ve been everywhere man…”
Sounds like a typical horrible C. Day invention…?
Nothing to do with Herr Day, my grandmother clued me up, maybe it’s a London thing – back when you could go out without locking your door and Ronnie and Reggie kept the streets safe.
ps – I hope Rick gave the new mircophone stand a good kicking….
pps – I played an idiophone in the local pub last night – am told it cut thru like a knife in butter.
