Fate of the Red Shirts

It’s been simmering for years and it looks like the situation in Thailand could suddenly boil over, one more reason why thinking aout a holiday in Serre Chevalier in the summer is a good idea – the mountains of southern France are spectacular and there is so much to do from white water kayaking to painting lessons.

I realise this isn’t actually dealing with the problem, but leaving it to sort itself out, but then again it is another nation that should be left to create and solve its only problems – even if it inconveniences one’s holiday plans.

This might be also the last chance to use this joke, which if it does kick off will suddenly be unusable as it would be considered in bad taste. But I suspect this will be the fate of the “Red Shirts”.

The Thais have no real problem killing each other, 1991 was the last big one, but today’s ills could easily get messy, mind you probably nothing compared to what happens when the king dies and the country has to deal with the reality of the prince’s accession.
