Resurfacing after winter

Now that the spring is sprung the damage wrought by the winter’s snows and other hurts of the elements are revealed.

The weather of Serre Chevalier just destroys all manner of road surfaces, it may be great for the skiing but it plays havoc on the tarmacaddum.

One sign of spring is the massive amount of resurfacing that goes on, teams of orange clad blokes tipping asphalt in to holes, spraying it out of nozzels, shovelling gravel onto the wet road and flattening it with all manner of devices from the biggest roller to the almost delicate little thumper.

So the roads and pavements will all be in great nick for next ski season – only six months to go.

The weather is also a killer for plant pots, so you’re best off with either a concrete one or a wooden planter, coz the council don’t replace those.
