Had a pretty substantial meal at la Peyra-Juana on the slope above Monetier this week. I suppose when you have walked up there, or like us walked down from the Bachas lift, you are in some need of fuel.
Not certain if we were lucky in our timings but we walked straight into a seat at about 3.30/ 4 pm. Proprietor Damian explained he’d had 70 walkers, hikers and the like eat there at lunch time proper, but because we’re a bit slow it made not a jot of difference to us.
There is also booze up there and it’s quite an easy descent to Monetier, via the Spanish Road, so a nice place to spend a sunny afternoon up a mountain in Serre Chevalier. They shut at 5pm, but if you’re nice they let you leave the glasses outside as you finish at your own pace.
If you are thinking about eating there do call ahead and book, but if you mention SerreChevalier.org you’ll get a complimentary genepi shot with every meal.
Call Dams now on: 06-81-11-40-26, his operators are standing by.

Excellent work with the free shot offer, makes me want to go there right now!
Can’t wait! What a beautiful photo of the mountains in the summer time. Loving the vintage deckchairs and delphiniums!
I love the Alps in the Summer…….and it must be said in the winter also!
