Future ski shock

by Fergus Rainbow on February 16, 2010

I’m in shock a little bit, I didn’t ski yesterday as it was my wife’s turn with our five (and a half) year old.

The weather was lovely, the snow is great and the slopes in Monetier aren’t teeming with people, especially if you ski during that lunch time of 12-3pm.

Anyway these two were on their way up the Cibiout lift when the little fellow dropped a pole onto the black run – which I reckon has the biggest moguls in the whole of Serre Chevalier.

So there was nothing to do but take him down the black or buy a pole. They did the black.

I think I’m going to pack this lark in, they did it without a hitch, sure he passed between the bumps – which come up to the waist of a man – but when it’s like this it puts the wind up me.

What hope have I got? I’m using today’s overcast conditions today to sulk and stay on the sofa.

Reminds me of that song “why was I born too late.”
