It rained for most of yesterday and this morning the first snows to coat the bare tops of the peaks above Monetier left a light dusting of the white stuff.
It’s a nice sunny day today, blue skies and a wee bit of mist.
Can’t say I expect the snow to last, but it does remind one of the massively different look of the place come winter.
There are those who say September will be pleasant and sunny, but as Norway and Russia are experiencing early snows now I reckon this could be a pretty amazing season.
Listen to me, a little bit of snow and I’m all keen to get skiing again.

I’m glad you did that today,,,I just drove up to St Chaffrey to drop Maddy off at her gym club and there was even snow on the Granon.
I haven’t blogged it yet, but it is becoming common knowledge that I turned up at a party on Saturday, took one step back as I said hello and fell into my host’s swimming pool. It was all quite funny, but with my beloved iphone in my pocket it was a disaster. Therefore while it is being repaired, I have no camera and no way to do mobile blogging.
Just seen Pike (a fantastic photographer who lives down Chantermerle way) and he reckons there’s at least six inches on Roche Bruin, the big pointy peak at the end of the valley.
The white against the green of the trees is quite an amazing contrast.
