Death in the family

by Fergus Rainbow on August 31, 2010

Sad day really, after all my no work the frost has taken my beautiful young pumpkins way.

Went down to the field yesterday and during the night the temperature had got low enough to freeze those sweet gourds, so they’re off the menu.

It is quite amazing the difference in temperature along the Guisane valley that contains Serre Chevalier, with at least a couple of degrees difference between Monetier and Briancon.

A friend visited from Embrum (about 60km away) last week and said there was a 10 degree difference.

Autumn is definately here, I just wish I had some pumpkin to help me make it through the cold nights.

It’s quite amazing the difference between today and yesterday, it’s summer again in Briancon
