Clash of the cultures

by Fergus Rainbow on July 22, 2010

If loud rawcus music is your thing that’s all well and good, but if a more spiritually uplifting, almost worshipful tune is your bag there are many church organ recitals going on in the valley until mid-August.

These are all free and as a rule they occur on a Sunday, with the quite famous church in Monetier being the setting for many.

The only draw back is they don’t have a bbq or booze, but as long as you’re not too obvious the curee says you can swig in the transcepts, just don’t pop your cans of lager in the quiet bits.

I’m not that much of a church visitor, but as it’s a bit different this is the kind of thing you start thinking you might go to in Serre Chevalier.

So see you Sunday 7pm at the Monetier church, left transcept.
