Today’s the day Serre Chevalier will suddenly show it’s tumescence, swollen unrecognisably by those holiday-makers who appreciate this southern French alpine jem that boasts 300 days of sunshine a year, with 250km of pistes and numerous off-piste opportunities.
It is nice that people come here, but I might start to be a bit snobby and go up mid-week. Friends of mine are turning up this afternoon, so obliged to have a ski with them tomorrow, but might find myself arranging my sock drawer, it’s getting crazy unruly and I have been putting it off for too long, seems like the perfect time.
The Sun is back, lovely blue skies, somewhat fresh – which will keep the pistes in good nick. They’ve also had the snow cannons on, so come on tourists – do your worst.

ha! I am one of those irritating tourists heading out today!
And there I was contemplating getting you a beer in at the station for hosting such a great site….
hmmmmmmm
It will be a pleasure to see you Sarah – readers of SerreChevalier.ORG are not classed as ‘irritating tourists’ in my book
In response to the threat of having beer rights removed, I re-read that blog and can find the phrase “irritating tourist” nowhere at all.
That’s practically slander.
What you infer is entirely beyond my control.
Happy now I’m sulking?
