There’s not much open in Monetier at the moment, but one little jem I tried for the first time is La Table de Corine, which is housed in the former Cairn hotel on the main road, Route de Grenoble.
For some reason this place never registered, I knew there was a bar there, but because it’s been through a few hands over recent years it has never had a enough stability for me to give it a go.
Corine now runs it and she serves generous, hearty plates at Eur16 for three courses and Eur13 for a meal with a glass, from a surprisingly relaxed bar, there is also a terrace from which to watch the hectic life of Serre Chevalier’s swankiest village speed by.

There is mountain biking, walking and all that river stuff just yards from the place.
