Neither can you or should you miss The Station at the foot of the Luc Alphand piste and just under the cable car in Chantemerle. The menu is “fish and chip shop style cuisine” and it is hard to talk about anything other than the fish and chips – which are excellent. 9€ gets you a huge piece of fish, tonnes of chips, a choice of peas, beans or mushy peas and a dainty salad – with ample tartar sauce.

Full English breakfasts are also featured as well as scampi and pies with chips. The burgers from 6€ are also great value and come with chips and salad.  There is also a dish of the day, which is a roast on Sunday, again a proper portion that is well worth the 10€, a real highlight of the week.
Puddings are succulent, the chocolate brownie is a must at 4€.

The Station is great value and well worth coming down from the piste for lunch for, if you don’t want to do the black piste Alphand there is a green track through the trees as well as three lifts.
They also serve a proper pint, none of the French half litre with a huge head on it. Happy hour is 4pm-8pm.
You can also take in live music 4.30-6pm and then again 10-11.30pm.
