Skiing a big melting pot where people with money from all sorts of countries come together to spunk at least a grand in a week. Oh yes, it takes all sorts of currency to come skiing, even to lovely Serre Chevalier, it’s not something that can be done on the cheap (unless you take advantage of the deals seen throughout this site). But what of the other sorts? You know Johny Foreigner?
Funny you should ask as travel insurance company InsureandGo has just completed a survey to put some sort of nationalist spin on the characters of those skiing, I’m not certain how accurate it is, but this is what they say:
The French (have to agree with this one) tend to overestimate their ability, true but they do have a certain style that one gets from skiing since the age of five.
The Italians have ”a tendency to ski and board too fast”, not certain if that’s my first thought of them, I’d say they mill about and block the ski lifts up, all noncing about trying to find Paulo, and wait for him to catch up after passing through the turnstyle.
According to the poll the Germans lack awareness for those around them. Can’t say I’ve noticed enough Germans to agree or disagree with this one.
Finally the Brits, amazing skiers, invented the sport, taught the world how to do it and behave in a queue don’t you know. Oh and might “show off” (their natural God given abilities) on the piste.
Seems as if everything is all right with the world then.
