You know what I think is that there’s no point having a website if you can’t make it work for you a little bit, which in the journo trade is called “soliciting advantage”. Of course it’s different if the companies offer you freebies and don’t expect you to write nice things about them but it’s not expected that one goes looking for freebies on which to hang a story.
There will be a full expose of a certain in-valley glossy magazine and its terrible practices coming soon, but this article is all about me and my terrible practices. My wife is off to Paris to do some trade show stuff, leaving me minding the baby literally, so this got me thinking that I could outsource some of that hard work and dress it up as coming to stay in Monetier, sort of like an unpaid, but housed, self catering au pair.
So there you have it, who wants to take the kids to school, probably every other day, as I’m a bit lazy and have their own room, on their own floor, with a locking door, but using the kitchen here – in swanky Monetier?
The offer is open Jan 14-28, but could be a day or so either side, or a part thereof?
Long term forecast is half cloud/ half sun, but we are predicted to get a massive dump of the fresh stuff this week, so the skiing should be fantastic, but bring your warm clothes.
If you think you fit the bill, drop us a line (comment on this post) and a couple of photos (including your face) and you could be experiencing the joys of Serre Chevalier – with strings attatched.

Well it certainly looks nice there, and as soon as I win 300K I’ll be straight over.
Having said that, if you can come up with some decent offers, I could pass it on to my head office in Paris and solicit you some business from the Frenchies over there. I get 15% of each employee that shows up of course. I am only half joking there.
So much for global warming though, eh? If ti is so hot, then how come…..? Oh never mind.
Hurry up and come and visit me in HK. Best to time it while the wife is away of course……

do you think 200 euros sounds about right for a taxi from turin to chantermerle?
what’s your favourite run and bit of off piste on the slopes near chantermerle?
and, any tips for a good guide in le grave?
cheers in advance,
henry
Eur200 is a good deal if you can find it. But I reckon you can do better with the Alpine Transfer Company at Eur 45 per person. They’ll drop you where you want and can also do the trip up to le Grave cheaper than anyone else. Tel: +33 679 280 413 or +33 685 687 131
Off piste is quite easy to find – watch where people head off the Grand Serre and Clot Gauthier lifts, if they don’t groom it it all pretty much treats you rough eg Echaillon.
For guides I reckon Bruno or Caro Bouchard out of the ESF in Monetier – both speak English and are good fun.
Or Darren Turner at Insightski, you’ll get a guide and tips with him 0033 (0) 679068683
