Chevrotin
Made in mountain chalets with pure goat milk, chevrotin is no ordinary goat cheese. Produced in the Aravis mountain chain of Haute-Savoie, east of Annecy and Bonneville hors Mont-Blanc, it shares with Reblochon not only its appearance and its place of birth, but also its method of cheese making, making it truly unique in its family.
Also called Chevroton des Aravis, this toughie with a soft heart is very aromatic, like the fragrant plants of the Alpine pastures where the goats feed all summer.Another chevrotin that is more like tomme is made in the Massif des Bauges; it is characterized by its spicy flavour and a slight taste of almonds.
