Savoie Tomme
Savoie Tomme is a rustic, family cheese that is mostly made during the
winter once the cows haw been brought back to the stable.
As a result, it is not a fatty cheese.
It has a grey crust sprinkled with little marks of red or yellow mould.
It i produced in the two departments of Savoie an Haute-Savoie, and carries
the Savoie brand regional label.
It can not only be served during the cheese course before dessert, but
is also just as suitable as a sandwich filling or for nibbling at any
time of day with a slice of fresh bread.
