The Fête de la Musique, also known as World Music Day, is a music festival taking place on June 21. The idea was originally a music festival which began in France, but which is now international in various cities. But of course all we are interested in here is the Fête de la Musique in Briançon.

Muntfinger make a return to the valley for few days, climaxing in their gig at Spirit tonight. Also don’t miss John’s paella which will be coming out at 8pm, actually that is the time now, so hurry. You can also catch Rockit down at Le Club Kitchen right in the middle of the lower bit of town, they have got Ash Strain guesting on bass tonight too.

For those of you more DJ orientated, DJ Dennis the Swedish Menace is doing a bit too. On Facebook he says, “DJ Dennis @ Fête de la musique: 21h – 23h30 – La Shappe (Rock, Tubes, Dance, Soul… ) 00h15-04h00 – Le Club (House) Bienvenue/Welcome!

So there you go, or not, as my case may be – the wife has gone out tonight so I’m at home with the kids. She deserves it, this time last year she was in hospital trying to squeeze out our youngest daughter! Rosie’s first birthday is on Wednesday.
