Quick change
I’m a fool to myself, everytime I dawdle thinking about going up, but finding an excuse to procrastinate, the weather changes and what was glorious sunshine has gone, leaving me up there in dark sunglasses and no visibility with my orange goggles at home in their case.
Instructor extrodinaire Darren Turner sarcastically remarked to me once “the weather in the mountains can change quite quickly,” like I was an idiot or something.
Stings to this day, so the short version is: if it’s nice don’t fart about and get up the piste. Or even better take dark and light goggles with you, so you don’t have to cut your run short.
Monetier was quite busy this morning, I think with the the last sector of the country to have school holidays, the local kids went back on Monday, and the car plates have 32 on them, wherever that is.
The snow is fantastic, nice and creamy after a couple of hours in the sun, which is also warm enough to clear the village, so walking down to Pre Chabert isn’t fraught with danger – got to watch my hip.
