Ups and downs on the buses
It has thrown it down over the past two days, a very soggy wet snow that goes all squishy on the road, as it’s a bit warm at 4 degrees.
The fall was about 30cm on Tuesday into Wednesday and at least the same again last night.
It’s amazing watching the snow clearing lot leap into action, snow ploughs, bulldozers and lorries shuttling snow to the river.
There is also the sound of percussion up there, with a fair bit closed due to Avalance Mark 4 notices, so not the best time to be heading off piste, give it a day or two.
Went to The Station Bar for the first time, very nice and easy to find under the Luc Alphand in Chantermerle – easy to find is where I’m at these days.
Word of warning regards the free shuttle buses, they end before 6pm (when they’re said to stop), so it was a bit of a shock to be told my ski pass didn’t get me a free ride. The buses run, but the price was Eur3 a head.
That’s the price of a pint of Amstel in The Station at happy hour, just to get things in perspective.
