Amazing light show
Just got back down, honestly the weirdest light I’ve ever seen up there. It was a very bright, flat, grey luminescence – amazing.
It was even weirder as I got to the top of L’Yret, it was as if the world had flooded again, a sheet of almost Wedgewood blue hung over the valley, like a very, very still ocean. It was even more pronounced through my yellow specs, but I think it’s still pretty visible in the picture.
It was as if a tsunami was bearing down on the Alps, but as God’s promised us fire next time I didn’t panic too much.
The snow is great, skied the Col du Vent, which was perfect and mogul and wind free. Then Cucamelle and decided to head home as the wind, temporarily, was getting up a bit, making Balme a nightmare, it’s slow and exposed so not one to drop a glove on.
We’re predicted a dusting tonight and then a bit of a fall early in the week, with the sun breaking out again for Thursday and the weekend.
