Hollywood heading downhill

0

FrozenWe all know Hollywood is morally bankrupt, but now we can add bankrupt of ideas, it seems someone rose to the challenge to make a worse film than “Disaster Movie”, which when mentioned in the Hotel L’Europe bar four people stopped their conversations to agree there is not a worse flick out there – and they were still traumatised.

That was possibly true then, but now I’ve learnt about “Frozen”, which, according to some bloke with an internet and an opinion (you know the sort) “will do for skiing what ‘Jaws’ did for swimming. So don’t watch it unless you think your constitution can handle the idea of three people stuck on a ski lift – and the resort won’t open again for a week!

(Wow I just used the exclamation mark, so that’s something.)

It will be premiered at Sundance, and opens on February 5th across the USSA, so should be in Europe soon after, I just pray it gets here before the end of the season.

You never know this might become a snow sports fan ironic favourite. It’s a shame it won’t be possible to get a drinking game out of it a la Withnail, but having just watched the trailer again I realised that there are so few lines spoken perhaps someone was worried it would not be taken seriously.

I have spoken to the Ski Patrol people in Serre Chevalier and they assure me such a “horrifying, relentless and harrowing, scary and intense, event” could never happen here, they also carry out regular maintenance checks and there are no wolves – but they could be lying, bwhaha.

Sorry just continuing “horror’s time-honored tradition of scaring audiences away from their favorite recreational activities”, as the Sundance blurb would have it.
