Serre Chevalier Ski Pass
They’re here!!
It’s arrived, just turned up, when I was beginning to wonder where it was, but I guess the season passes have been dispatched for Grand Serre.
It’s always a toss up, as it does seem like a whole chunk of cash, Eur596 if purchased before Dec 1st and 750 if bought after then so get a wiggle on.
I bought even earlier which includes 15 days in neighbouring stations and the summer pass, but really that’s about as interesting as a fish with tits – actually out loud that does sound somewhat fascinating, if it was that or X-Factor, Rack and Chips would win.
Summer pass, whoo.
Anyway the plastic is in my pocket for the Dec 12th roll-out, it’s roughly four weeks, so another frisson building marker on our way to the opening of the ski areas.
I tell you what is weird here is flies are still alive, surely with freezing temperatures at night and daily averages of 6-12º they should be dead right?
Not a bit of it, this is the first year I’ve seen them, maybe it’s evolution? If they’ve been breeding in the mountains since the invention of cows it would stand to reason they have adapted to be Geordie tough.
Mind you it’s very easy to forget we’re in the south of France, N 44° 56′ 45”, we’re up high, but we’re on a par with Bucharest, Sapporo, not too far off. I thought I’d find some surprisingly hot place there, so that was a bit of a let down. Mind you my ski pass has arrived so that’s taken my mind off the disappointment already.
