Villeneuve or Chantemerle - Where to stay?

If you're new here, you may want to stay current with this Serre Chevalier RSS feed, click this link and your browser should tell you what to do. Thanks for visiting!

Chantemerle and Villeneuve are probably about equally as lively as each other, but neither are quite the banging party towns like you would expect in Alpe d’Huez or Les Deux Alpes.  Both have traditional restaurants as well ones with more modern menus. There are two pretty good night clubs in Villeneuve and one ’strangely french’ one in Chantemerle.  As with most  French nightclubs these are best appreciated when you are steaming drunk.

If you are into loud music and drinking heavily  La Grotte in Villeneuve is probably right up your street - a taste of Watford in The French Alps - with loads of party nights and live bands. If you fancy something slightly more relaxed, then The Extreme Bar and Le Bistrot in Chantemerle are probably more your cup of tea.

Chantemerle tends to be a more compact village, whereas Villeneuve is a bit more spread out.

Accommodation wise, Chantemerle has La Claire Fontaine which is convenient for the lifts and all the facilities.  For Villeneuve contact Mike from Tadpole Holidays who has loads of accommodation on offer. He can also sort out airport transfers too.

So the decision is yours, if you are looking for a reasonably lively place Villeneuve and Chantemerle both have something to offer.
