Earthquakes in Serre Chevalier

If you're new here, you may want to stay current with this Serre Chevalier RSS feed, click this link and your browser should tell you what to do. Thanks for visiting!

I suppose this will happen if you live on a fault line, after all that is the whole reason The Alps are there in the first place!  Anyway, for some reason I was having a browse around on the internet last night to see if the small earthquake I had experienced a few weeks ago was noted anywhere.  I remember last summer being quite excited by a small earthquake, where the epicenter was near Nevache and I knew I had written about it somewhere and reported it too.  This time the epicenter was 2km from Monetier-le-Bains, rumours have it that people were running out of their houses in fear, but you never know how exaggerated these ‘Chinese whispers’ get:)

Anyway I did find what I’d written about and I commented on the more recent one too… it’s here: Earthquake in Serre Chevalier

Pleased I wasn’t in Monetier that week then…. I guess that’s what is giving us the benefit of the thermal spring.
