Skiing conditions in Serre Che Monday 15th January2007
We still have some snow, and on-piste conditions for beginners and intermediates were fine yesterday, however the surface was quite hard, with a few icy patches. I had an enjoyable three hours skiing on green, blue and red pistes at Grand Alpe and Serre Ratier, simply because there are very few people around this week. Off piste skiers and powder specialists will need to wait for the next snowfall, there is nothing doing right now. The piste Luc Alphand down into the village was open for part of the day, but apparently quite ropey! After some really warm sunny days last week, which haven’t helped the pistes, Monday and now Tuesday are more cloudy, still mild for January though. Some of the locals are saying it may snow at the weekend, let’s hope so..
Don’t forget tonight and every Tuesday Serre Chevalier’s only Abba tribute band, Almost Abba, live at La Grotte, Serre Chevalier 1400, at the Aravet Telecabine. Free entry, show starts 10.30pm.
